It is designed to meet the ASTM F2656 storefront requirements as it is designed for bi-directional stopping capability and one properly installed standalone C40 bollard is engineered to stop a 5,000 lbs. vehicle at 30 mph impact with less than 12" of penetration.

Ideal Shield collaborated with Barrier1 to independently test the C40 Bollard. The bollard passed the independent ASTM test of 2,430 lbs. vehicle (with engine block) at 42.6 mph with less than 24″ of penetration.

The C40/S30 Bollard is finished with Red or Grey Primer. We recommend covering it with an Bollard Cover to improve the aesthetic.
