The Steel Pipe and Plastic Handrail combines industrial strength with modern corrosion resistance, delivering a safety railing solution engineered for demanding environments. Built from 1 ¼" schedule 40 and schedule 80 steel pipe and encased in durable 1 ½" HDPE plastic, this hybrid design eliminates rust while maintaining structural integrity.

Secured with external aluminum magnesium Speed-Rail® fittings and exclusive knurled 5/8" set screws, the assembly provides a rock-solid grip and straightforward installation.

The Steel Pipe & Plastic Handrail is made of 1-1/4″ schedule 40 steel pipe rail and 1-1/4″ schedule 80 steel pipe post sleeved in a high-density polyethylene thermoplastic tube, secured by aluminum/magnesium alloy Speed Rail® fittings. Ideal rails are load tested and offered at 42″ height to meet OSHA Standard. The outside diameter of the finished handrail pipe is 1.9″ and standard height is 42″ to meet OSHA standards.

The handrail system can be installed by using our core-in, plate-mount, side-mount or cup-welded methods. We also have a non-penetrating weighted base plate for roof tops.

The Ideal Shield Handrail System is delivered to your site packaged and on pallets in modular units or separate components ready for easy installation.

Our standard sleeving is Safety Yellow for the Steel Pipe & Plastic Handrail. We also can sleeve in gunmetal gray, black, red, or other colors. Contact for more information.
